Corn Starch Project Introduction

(1) Corn weighing: The production line receives the washed corn from the silo system and processes it there. The online weighing machine logs the amount of corn entered to determine the amount of corn processing, and the corn is subsequently delivered to the steeping section.


(2) Steeping: To soften the corn by absorbing the weak acid water in the steeping tank, the countercurrent steeping mechanism is used. All of the steeping tanks were filled with hot acid that was maintained at a temperature of 50°C. Corn that has been steeped is delivered to the crushing area. It is then transferred to the wet corn storage tank after dehydration.


(3) Preparation of H2SO3: The sulfur furnace burns sulfur to produce the SO2 gas. To create the H2SO3 necessary for production, SO2 is combined with water after being sprayed with it.


(4) Corn crushing and germ separation: The first degerm mill receives the steeped corn from the wet corn storage tank. The first germ cyclone is filled with the crushed grain. It then goes into the second degerm mill for additional grinding following germ separation. The second germ cylone is then utilized for the germ separation before moving on to the following stage.


(5) Germ washing, dehydration and drying: The three-stage gravity arc screen receives the separated germ from the germ cyclone for washing. The cleaned germ is transferred to the squeezer for dehydration before being dried in the dryer to produce the germ product.


(6) Fine grinding and fiber washing, dehydration and drying: To extract the fiber inside, the broken corn is repeatedly forcedly crushed in the pin mill. The multistage washing screen receives the fiber input in order to recover the mixed starch. Through the use of a screw squeezer, the cleaned fiber is dehydrated and dried. To create the finished fiber product, the dried fiber is combined with concentrated corn steeping liquor and dried again.


(7) Protein separation and starch washing: The main separator is where the starch milk goes to be separated from the protein. A 12-stage hydrocyclone is used to wash the separated starch in order to remove minute external contaminants and a tiny amount of mixed protein.


(8) Starch dehydration and drying: The dried starch product with moisture under 14% is obtained after the refined starch milk has been dehydrated by the peeling centrifuge and has been transported to the air drier system.

(9) Protein concentration, dehydration and drying: The filter press is where the protein goes after it has been further dehydrated and concentrated by the gluten concentrator. To produce the required protein product, the dehydrated protein is transferred to the dryer for drying.


(10) Process water recovery and steeping liquid evaporation: Process water from equipment like the protein concentrator, dehydrator, etc. contains SO2 and other insoluble materials that can be recycled throughout the entire system, including the steeping and washing sections. The evaporator concentrates the corn steeping liquid. To obtain the mixed fiber, a portion of the HCSL is transported to the dryer for fiber bundles. Others will be offered for sale as by-products.
