The Corn Starch Production Journey:

1. Precise Corn Weighing:

The journey commences with meticulous corn weighing. Cleaned corn from the silo system is processed while its quantity is accurately recorded by the on-line weighing machine, facilitating precise calculations for subsequent processing.

2. Steeping Transformation:

Countercurrent steeping takes center stage, as corn absorbs weak acid water in steeping tanks, rendering it soft. Heated acid at 50℃ is circulated through the tanks. The softened corn then moves to the crushing section after which it is dehydrated and stored in a wet corn storage tank.

3. H2SO3 Preparation:

SO2 gas is derived by burning sulfur in the sulfur furnace. This gas is mixed with water post-spraying to generate the requisite H2SO3 for production.

4. Corn Crushing and Germ Separation:

Steeped corn journeys from wet corn storage to the first degerm mill. Crushed corn proceeds to the 1st germ cyclone, separating germ. Further grinding transpires in the 2nd degerm mill followed by separation in the 2nd germ cyclone.

5. Germ Washing, Dehydration, and Drying:

Separated germ undergoes thorough washing via the three-stage gravity arc screen. Subsequent dehydration and drying processes yield the final germ product.

6. Fiber Removal and Processing:

The pin mill obliterates broken corn, ridding it of inner fiber. The recovered fiber is washed, dehydrated, and dried to produce the fiber product. It is then combined with concentrated corn steeping liquor before further drying.

7. Protein Separation and Starch Washing:

Starch milk enters the main separator for protein separation. The extracted starch undergoes washing via a 12-stage hydrocyclone to eliminate foreign impurities and trace proteins.

8. Starch Dehydration and Drying:

Refined starch milk, after dehydration by the peeler centrifuge, is dried through the air dryer system. This process yields starch with moisture content below 14%.

9. Protein Concentration and Drying:

Concentrated protein, further dehydrated via the filter press, is dried to achieve the final qualified protein product.

10. Resource Maximization:

Process water, including SO2 and insoluble substances, is repurposed in sections such as steeping and washing. Corn steeping liquid is efficiently concentrated via evaporation, some used for fiber drying, and the rest becomes valuable by-products.
